LSDA LSDA's mission is to improve the quality of post-16 education and training in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We do this through research to inform policy and practice, through helping to shape and communicate education policy and through improvement and support programmes for organisations that deliver post-16 education and training. LSC The LSC exists to make England better skilled and more competitive. We have a single goal: to improve the skills of England's young people and adults to make sure we have a workforce that is of world-class standards. We are responsible for planning and funding high-quality vocational education and training for everyone. Our vision is that by 2010, young people and adults in England have the knowledge and skills matching the best in the world and are part of a fiercely competitive workforce. Sector Skills Council The Skills for Business network aims to boost the productivity and profitability of the UK. We're doing this by identifying and tackling skills gaps and shortages on a sector by sector basis. In short, we're trying to get the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time. The Skills for Business network is made up of 25 Sector Skills Councils (SSCs)– each one is an employer-led, independent organisation. The Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA) underpins the network and is responsible for funding, supporting and monitoring the SSCs. CONNEXIONS We offer 13-19 yr olds the information, advice and practical help they need with any issue that may be affecting their life - from working and learning, to more personal matters such as relationships, health or housing. ALI We are the inspectorate for skills, workforce development and preparation for employment. Working with employers and training providers across the public and private sector, we are a key part of the government’s drive to increase skills and productivity and help adults and young people reach their full potential.
